The last six weeks have been mega busy, here’s an update on what I’ve been up to both on and offline…
Get To KNOW
Houston, we have lift off!! We hosted the Get TO KNOW launch event in September at the Hoxton hotel in Shoreditch. It was an incredible night of learning, inspiring and celebrating women!
Since the launch, we have also hosted a fabulous self care event with AVEDA. We returned to the Hoxton for our social media event with a stellar panel of girl bosses, top UK bloggers and industry insiders from Facebook, Insta & Google. Last week we joined forces with the wonderful women at PUSH PR and our next event is just three days away!
You can get all the info about our events at wwww.wearegettoknow.com
I was invited by ASOS & adidas to host a workout as part of #POWERWEEKLDN. I led a fun and sweaty dance HIIT class to a soundtrack of bangers from super fly DJ, Nadia Jae. To finish off the night, Mabel performed a set from her recent tour. I’m a huge fan of Mabel, so it was awesome to hear her magical voice live. The whole event was MEGA! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there ain’t no party like an three stripe party!
GOOGLE PIXEL 2XL
What can I say!? The hype is real! I went to the launch party for the Google Pixel 2XL phone. I’d heard that the phone camera was incredible, but to be honest I wasn’t sure if I would ever be willing to give up my iPhone and make the switch to android. Fast forward two weeks and I am now using the Pixel 2XL and I’m LOVIN’ IT!
Two words… ‘unlimited storage’ ! I mean what else do you need in life. Plus the camera is insanely good and the battery lasts all day and night!
I’ll be filming my next Youtube VLOG using the new phone, so you’ll be able to see the video quality too.
I know people like to stick to what they know right? Apple have dominated the smart phone world for the last decade with the iPhone but I predict that this will change in the next 12 months. Google have literally thought of everything with this one. They’ve listened to consumers and given us a phone / diary / camera / map / music and social media all in one place. Bravo team pixel !
MUMS IN TECH X MATCHESFASHION
I was invited to a Fashion Recoded event at the MatchesFashion HQ with Mums in Tech. It was a really interesting event that covered some of the challenges that women and particularly mothers face when navigating their careers. We heard talks from Michelle Kennedy, CEO & Founder of Peanut, Tara Clarkson, Technology Talent Partner at MatchesFashion, Dolly Jones, Digital Content & Strategy Director at Condé Nast Publications and a host of other women too. These ladies know their stuff!
Even though these women all work in different industries to me, I could definitely relate to a lot of what they said. Essentially being a women / mother /creative / business owner is tough!! Juggling work and life commitments is a challenge but we are still doing it and actually we’re crushing it! The founder of Mums In Tech, June Angelides is a pioneer for women in tech, I encourage you check her out!
RUNNING IS AWESOME
Okay, I’ll admit that after the London Marathon, I kind of fell out of love with running for a while and I had a little sulk. We’ve made up now and I’m back in love! I laced up to race through the streets of East London for the adidas City Runs 10K. It was awesome, I shared my post run joy here
Jude is quickly becoming a big kid, he’s losing his baby teeth and growing out of his clothes at lightning speed. *I’m aware that I sound like such a mum right now! The other day as Jude was getting ready for bed, he told me ‘Mummy, you’re the best Mum I’ve ever had!’ I think that my heart may have burst! He also told me that he would like me to be a part of the school PTA!! Bless him, he actually thinks that I’m a responsible parent that the school would trust. 🙂 LOLZ
Last but not least, I filmed my first ever week long VLOG. I though it would be a fun way to document a week of my life / work / events I really enjoyed filming this VLOG! I might start making them more often.
… that’s the latest.
